How many dates did the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) receive yearly from Khaibar?

Question:

How much dates did prohet SAW recieve yearly from khaibar? i knw each wife reieved 80 wasq but i need to know the total nabi SAW recieved?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) would receive approximately twenty thousand wasq of dates from the Jews of Khaibar each year. Out of these twenty thousand wasq, one-fifth belonged to the share of the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). He would then distribute from that one-fifth amongst his wives and the poor Muslims.

Please refer to the following narrations:

(1) Sayyiduna ‘Umar (may Allah Ta’ālā be pleased with him) said:

The Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) had three different portions of personally allocated booty: (allocation from) the Banu Nadhīr tribe, (allocation from) the land of Khaibar, and (allocation from) the land of Fadak….In regards to the (proceedings from) the land of Khaibar, the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) distributed it between the Muslims. He then allocated one portion for the expenditures of his wives. Whatever was left over from it, he would distribute it amongst the poor muhījirīn (those who migrated from Makkah to Medina). [Sunan Abi Dawud, 2967, Chapter on The Special Portion (As-Safi) Of The Prophet (saws) That Was taken From The Spoils Of War]

(2) ‘Abd Allah bin ‘Umar (may Allah Ta’ālā be pleased with them) reported that ‘Umar (may Allah Ta’ālā be pleased with him) said:

“When Khaibar was conquered, the Jews asked the Apostle of Allaah(salllallahu alaihi wa sallam) to confirm that they would do all the cultivation and have half the produce. The Apostle of Allaah(sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said “I shall confirm you on that condition as long as we wish. So they were confirmed on that (condition). The dates from half the produce of Khaibar were divided into a number of portions. The Apostle of Allaah(sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) would take the fifth. The Apostle of Allaah(sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) used to contribute from the fifth one hundred wasqs of dates and twenty wasqs of wheat to each of his wives. [Sunan Abi Dawud, 3007, Chapter: What Has Been Related About The Ruling On The Land Of Khaibar]

(3) Narrated by Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah Ta’ālā be pleased with them):

The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) concluded a contract with the people of Khaibar to utilize the land on the condition that half the products of fruits or vegetation would be their share. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) used to give his wives one hundred Wasqs each, eighty Wasqs of dates and twenty Wasqs of barley of wheat to each of his wives. [Sahih al-Bukhari, 2328, Chapter of Temporary share-cropping contract]

(4) Narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah Ta’ālā be pleased with them):

When Allah bestowed Khaybar on His Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) as fay’ (as a result of conquest without fighting), the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) allowed (them) to remain there as they were before, and apportioned it between him and them. He then sent Abdullah ibn Rawahah who assessed (the amount of dates) upon them. [Sunan Abi Dawud, 3414, Chapter of Al-Khars (Estimation Of Fruits On Palm Trees)]

(5) Narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah Ta’ālā be pleased with them):

Ibn Rawahah assessed them (the amount of dates) at forty thousand wasqs, and when Ibn Rawahah gave them option, the Jews took the fruits in their possession and twenty thousand wasqs of dates were due from them.[Sunan Abi Dawud, 3415, Chapter of Al-Khars (Estimation Of Fruits On Palm Trees)]
